Import contacts
Importing and exporting contacts are features of the Professional plan or higher.
You can create your contacts within B2Brouter automatically and massively, by uploading a CSV file containing the information. As a result, these are created automatically without having to enter the data manually. To do so, follow these steps:
- Through the top main menu, go to the Contacts section.
- Select the Import file option.
To import your customers’ information to B2Brouter, you can Download example CSV file from the following page. So:
- Click on the link Download example CSV file.
- The sample CSV file is downloaded, which you must copy with the data of your customers.
Once you have generated the file from your system with your customer data:
- Use the Select files option.
- Look for the file in your system.
- Use the Import option.
It is very important that the file is in CSV format and not in XLSX (Excel).
Save the identifier columns (VAT number, SIRET…) as text. A spreadsheet can turn long numbers into scientific notation (for example, 8.44597E+13) and lose digits: those rows are rejected.
Import result
Section titled “Import result”Each row is imported on its own. The Import result screen shows how many contacts were imported and how many were not, with the reason under each rejected identifier. The other rows are still created, and there is no limit on the number of rows.
A row that matches an existing contact is rejected, unless you tick Overwrite existing companies. So if you import the same file again, all the contacts already created show as rejected: this is the expected behaviour.
To complete a partial import, correct the rejected rows and import only those rows.
Export contacts
Section titled “Export contacts”- In the Contacts section, click Export.
- The file
contacts.csvis downloaded. It is separated by semicolons and contains the contacts in the list. If you applied filters, it contains only the filtered contacts. - You can export a maximum of 5,000 contacts at a time. If you have more, filter the list and export it in parts.
Move contacts to another account
Section titled “Move contacts to another account”Contacts belong to each account. There is no option to move or merge them between accounts. To have them in another account:
- Export them from the source account with Export.
- Import the file into the destination account with Import file.
The exported file has more columns than the example file. Before you import it, compare it with the example file.
The destination account also needs the Professional plan or higher. On the Basic plan you cannot import contacts, and the account allows a maximum of 10 contacts.
The same customer can exist in several accounts at the same time. If one account invoices this customer, the other accounts can invoice it too.
